Benzoic Acid FCC is available in white crystalline form. This chemical easily dissolves in C2H5OH, ether, chloroform and also in boiling water. Also referred as benzene carboxylic acid, its molecular weight is 122.12. Its solidification point ranges between 121 degree C to 123 degree C temperature. Benzoic Acid FCC contains maximum 0.7% water and up to 0.0002% lead. Its flash point is 250 degree F, boiling point is 249 degree C and density is 1.08. As effective food preservative, this chemical is used for synthesis of different organic substances. It tends to oxidation and vapor produced by this acid can cause cough and irritation to users.
