A sodium salt of sulfuric acid, sodium sulphate is a white crystalline solid available in powder form. With molecular formula of Na2SO4, this odourless chemical compound is insoluble in ethanol, and soluble in water, hydrogen iodide and glycerol. Organic liquids can be quickly and easily dried using this chemical compound. It is also utilized in detergents as a filler, in addition to paper pulping process. The other applications of sodium sulphate are freshening carpets, removing small air bubbles from molten glass, defrosting windows, producing starch, etc.
